First, let me address the title, The Gibbons' "Farm". No we do not raise crops or animals but we do manage a homestead and we can technically check off a lot on the list I came across...Farm Business Startup Checklist. Let me give you a few examples. The checklist includes:
1. Secure Farm Business Location- I think we finally feel at home and settled into our house in Mooresville. Danno and I were counting the other night and discovered we have lived in 12 different homes since we were married...whew am I glad we have secured our location.
2. Establish the legal structure- Safe to say it is a owned and operated by our Heavenly Father and a partnership between Danno and I...check!
3. Establish farm management team and job descriptions-need I say more?
4. Hire and schedule farm labor- We are currently in the process of raising our help. Wryah and Nolan are going to be hard working gentlemen...prayers are encouraged and accepted.
Ok now that I have established why we are allowed to be called the Gibbons' Farm I want to discuss the "resolutions" we are setting for this year 2017.
Family. Whether we are reading a book together, taking a walk, playing Legos, watching a movie, eating dinner, praying, rocking on our front porch we want to be together. We are better and stronger together. God has put each one of us together because we create the puzzle He intended. It is the same for your family. Bring those puzzle pieces together more often. Laugh, talk, cry, and dream together with your family this year.
Fixin'. This one creeped in during the week Danno was off work. We had a plan to start and complete some DIY projects in our home but little did we know the amount of joy and fullfilment there was in creating our space. We don't want to stop. Now, there have been some frustrating moments...anyone try to complete a project with two little ones wanting your attention??? It is so worth it though when you realize the memories you made and the patience you built :) No matter the budget, find something you can create in your home and work together with someone you love to complete it.
Fitness. Danno and I have always loved exercising, challenging each other, and eating healthy. Last year we had a few set backs physically and needed a restart in our priorities. Danno's recovery from shoulder surgery took longer than expected. We realized how mentally tough it is to regain strength. We are going to train through the pain though because the results are worth it. Danno and I have changed around our schedules to manage family time and gym time together this first week of the year and it is going great. We are back in the gym together, motivating each other, and pushing each other to greatness. It is vitally important in life to have an accountability partner. Truth hurts but I am learning how much progress can be made outside of my comfort zone (note to self, that is true in all areas of life)
What are your goals or resolutions this 2017? Do you have family goals and personal goals? Have you shared them with the people you love? We would love to hear from you! There is power in writing and sharing your thoughts and dreams. They become real when they are verbalized or written. Let's dream together this year Farmer and the Belle family. Remember that God honors big dreams because big dreams honor Him.
